Star Trek Online- Gun Fighters Templar

About 7 years ago I had a job that required a lot of travel. I would be gone for weeks and sometimes months. I also had a wife and 2 really great kids. I found myself missing out of a lot of them growing up. And My family was getting a bit to distant the longer I was gone. I needed a way to stay connected with my kids and wife but as real life has a way of doing, it was my job to support them.

One X-Mas a new game came out called Star Trek Online and I figured well... I am a fan, ill give it a try. For me it was one of the best things I did, soon after my kids signed up for the game. ( its Free to play btw ) , and so did my wife. Soon after we had a fleet where no matter how far apart we were, I got to play with my kids and interact with my wife more than phone calls and texting.

Now that I'm retired, kids practically grown up, we are still playing. And so are my wife and kids which is cool.

The game uses Arc gaming platform but can be accessed using Steam as well. Ill link it for ya all.

The game itself is free to play and for all practical purposes is possible to play the game as a free client and still have access to end game goals, which most free to play games will not do. ( Other free games will put a level cap until you purchase something from them. ) You can buy items for the game itself like ships, characters and other options but that's up to you. Another good thing by going through the Arc and Steam launchers is that if you do decide to purchase something you don't need to give them your credit card. (although that option is available ) Can use PayPal or purchase pre paid cards at any Wal-Mart or gaming store like GameStop.

Another interesting thing about the game is here around June 2016 , the game will be available on X-Box One and PlayStation 4. Still a little unclear on if its going to be cross platform compatible. X-Box and PlayStation never played nice with each other so will be interesting to see what happens there.

About the only bad thing I can say about the game is that it is a little on the Grindy side. Meaning you have to do a lot of missions, or daily quests to get items for free stuff/gear. however I have seen vast improvements to this over the years as the game itself evolved.
I do like the always added storylines they are putting in. almost as close to Watching any episode of the Star Trek episodes as you can get. Another aspect to the game is there are fan made episodes incorporated into the game that are pretty good.

GUN FIGHTERS TEMPLAR

Gun Fighters Templar is the name of our in game fleet. When it first started up it was just family and friends in the group. Now we have members from all over the world which is fun. If any of you folks care to join us please give us a holler via in-game E-Mail. Our contact names are @walt04 or @Stef04. Again that's in the game Mail.

Basically we are a Small but growing fleet willing to help others. Pretty laid back fleet. We don't claim to know everything there is to the game itself but we have been playing a long time and if we do not know we for sure know how to find out.

will be posting in game pics and videos here soon. STAY TUNED FOR MORE :)
